Weekend Wrap-Up

Friday was a work day, then I ran home to get the kids off the bus. We hung out and the kids played for a while before Adam got home from work. Ate dinner and just messed around - xbox, movies, etc., until it was time for the kids to get to bed. Shortly after that I headed out for dinner with Mark, Julie (my bosses) and Madison, a rep from one of our manufacturers who is in town to teach some classes at the store. We laughed HARD at dinner, at a little bit, and then I headed back home a did a little scrapbooking - first time in a LONG time! People probably think that I do that all the time, since I work in the store and all, but in reality I don't get to scrapbook much at all. When I do, it's usually for a Design Team assignment, so it's different (and usually a little rushed to meet a deadline!).

On Saturday we slept in a little, then eventually headed out for ice skating lessons. The kids have SO much fun - there's a little instruction and a LOT of just playing around and trying out what they learn, and they get to hang out with their friends Ally and Rachel, which makes it even better. They really look forward to lesson days. From there we went to McDonald's for lunch with the McMullen clan, including Fred (Tam's dad) who dropped in to ice skating. After that we took Adam straight to work since we'd already made him late with all of our messing around, and then the kids and I went home for baths before dinner with the gang and church. After church it was back to the McMullen's as usual, where we ended up staying until 2:30am while the boys (as in Adam, Daryl & Todd) Xboxed online with some buddies from church. We girls got to chat while watching and listening to them AND the guys they were playing online - VERY funny. I'm sure they cleaned up their acts just a bit for our benefit, though...

Sunday morning Adam had to work EARLY, so he may have gotten 3 hours of sleep! The kids and I slept in, though, until around 9 and then just spent a very lazy day at home together. Jacob wasn't feeling too hot - sore throat and a headache, etc. Bummer. I scrapbooked again (I'm working really hard at finishing up my 2005 pictures!) and Abby even joined me for a while. She's got a very artistic streak in her. Jacob sat and colored for a while, too. They watched some movies, played with toys, did some homework, etc. Adam was actually home mid-afternoon (he usually stays and works for the Lifeline service), so the kids sat with him and watched a movie. Adam also rented the Transformers video game for Jacob to try out - he was a pretty happy camper! In the evening I ran over to mom's to drop something off and pick up another bookshelf (she's cleaning house now that she has Katie and Steve). Got a tour of all the changes being made in the house - Steve has the basement and has rearranged, hung a drop-ceiling, and sunk his tv and other components in the wall under the stairs - looks pretty cool! Mom gets to keep most of the main floor (hehe) and Katie has the attic room upstairs. She's converted it to look like a studio apartment, and it looks really cool. Once they get it all done, it's going to look like a totally different place!

So, that's our weekend in a nutshell. Nothing too exciting, which is pretty much how I like it, at least every now and then!
