She walked us back to the pedicure area and we each took a seat. The woman proceeded to "fix" Jami's polish by "smoothing" it out with acetone on her finger. Didn't take the bad paint off, just smoothed it and then polished over it with another coat before sending her over to dry. I got lucky and she actually took the polish off the two toes that looked the worst and she started fresh. She also touched up some of the others with a little more white on the tips. Then she sent me over to dry with Jami. We read magazines and chatted about current events for probably 30 minutes before we finally decided they weren't coming to check us out, so we stood up and got ready to go. The girl came running over and stopped us - they wanted to paint something else over them before we put our "shocks" on. (Try keeping a straight face for that one.) One of Jami's toenails still looked funky to one of the guys that was there helping, so the girl took her back over to the chairs and she AGAIN "smoothed" out the polish and added ANOTHER coat - didn't strip it down and start fresh - so we're fully expecting that it's going to take another HOUR for her multiple coats of paint to dry. While she was over there, the guy came and sprayed something that smelled like Aquanet on my feet (ick!) and they did the same to Jami. We sat, read, talked, and "ear hustled" as another girl sat and had a pedicure, talking about how she was SO pregnant that she couldn't reach her feet to trim her nails. Nevermind that I couldn't even tell she was pregnant when she walked in - TOO funny!
After a while, the guy and the girl came over and started tearing up a trash bag. Ok... Well, apparently they were troubled that we chose not to wear socks (which we thought was a good move because the socks seemed to have caused the problem the day before). Their solution to this situation was to have us wear plastic bags on our feet. That's right. And just in case you have trouble believing it:
